Valley Glen is next-door work for us in the most literal sense: the neighborhood starts just east of our Van Nuys shop on Debby Street, with the Tujunga Wash greenbelt — home of the Great Wall of Los Angeles mural — running straight through it. When a Valley Glen call comes in, we aren't crossing the Valley to get there.
Most of the housing went up in the 1940s and 1950s, single-story ranch and traditional homes built before central air was standard. Decades later, plenty of them run on ductwork that was retrofitted into attics never designed for it — undersized runs, kinked flex duct, and insulation that flattened out a generation ago.
